The following is an excerpt from one of Norman Grubb's letters compiled in Knight of Faith, Volume 1:
". . . Don't take false condemnation . . . that is when you say that you want prayer to be more surrendered, more Christ-centered, etc.
"I don't think we get the victory by having a kind of long-term view on our lives that we ought in general to be more this or more that. I believe victory is just to see Jesus in me now and NOW, no matter how we fail or have lapsed right up to this present moment we leave that buried in the Blood of Christ.
"We rejoice now that Jesus Himself is living in us, and that's all we want for time and eternity. Don't bother about the future, and becoming more this or more that.
"You can never have more than Jesus in you now, just relax in Him, rejoice in Him, and walk and work in Him. That's all. The rest is really only false condemnation.
"You can never be improved more than I can. You are only just a vessel, a cup, a container. All the improvement in you is Jesus Himself and He cannot be improved because He is just Himself in us. So just relax and rejoice I say!"
