The Power of Christ's Resurrection

 The following is from Arthur T. Pierson's excellent book Shall We Continue in Sin:

". . . Holy living becomes possible to us only in proportion, therefore, as we keep constantly in mind that the power to live a new life of holiness is wholly of God: that it is not found in self culture, in education and training, in the most honest purpose or effort, in the most helpful and healthful surroundings, but solely in an impartation from God, in the gift of the Spirit of Life, power, holiness, the same that raised up the Lord Jesus; and, that until that Spirit animates and vitalizes us, we are as helpless to live a holy life as Christ's dead body was to move.

"Not until we realize this can we ever find the power of Christ's Resurrection in ourselves."
