The Secret Keys

The following is from J. Rufus Moseley as recorded in the book Ineffable Union With Christ:  Living in the Kingdom (Selected Writings of J. Rufus Moseley, 1927-1937) compiled and edited by Gregory S. Camp:

"The secret or keys for entering and abiding in Him and in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth as He [the Lord Jesus] made them known over and over again are:

  1. Leave on the outside (repent of) everything that's keeping you on the outside and enter at His feet.  You only have to leave on the outside that which is unloving and harmful to you and to others, only that which keeps life from being pure, kind, blessed, holy and heavenly, only that which keeps the outside from being heavenly.
  2. If you are so unfortunate after entering into Jesus and entering into the Kingdom of Heaven ever to get out of the experience and witness of this wonderful place (I did it, again and again, but never did He withdraw from abiding within me), repent quickly, ask and knock and obey to get back in.  He never refuses.
  3. Choose to keep Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven and the abiding in Him and in the Kingdom first.  This will break the power of any temptation.
  4. Refuse to do anything but to love and to bless and to announce His love for all.
  5. Meet all evil with good and all persecutions with thanksgiving and blessings upon the persecutors.
  6. Ask to be wholly sanctified and preserved blameless and whole in spirit, soul, mind, and body unto the whole revelation of Jesus in glory, which if you are ready, will also be your own rapture into the likeness of the body of His glorification.  Entire sanctification will bring entire health and wholeness and everything we need.
  7. Turn to the Holy Spirit to direct and redeem your desires, thoughts, prayers, and everything, to burn up or take out all that keeps the heart and mind from being staid on Him.
  8. Ask for the fullness of the New Covenant relationship with Jesus and with God, that is, for His laws, nature, desires, will and spirit to be written within the depths of the whole being.  It was this prayer, inspired by the Holy Spirit, that seemed to have been the key to the last opened door to me when the witness came of everlasting union with Him.  Just as the natural man, as well as animals and plants, by being born of their 'parents' and associating with them, grow up into their likeness without conscious effort, so do we, as we are born of His love, Spirit, and likeness.  Here it is just as natural to do His will of love and good-will as for those born of and deeply under the influence of the old Adam, to do his [i.e., Adam's or Satan's] will.
  9. The life in Jesus Christ, in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, is free from all responsibility except the responsibility of being in union with Him, and being led by Him and of bearing the fruit of the union."
