God Loves by Us

 The following is from a collection of Norman Grubb's letters, Knight of Faith, Volume 1:

". . . Once we understand what [the] whole passage from [1 John] makes plain from 4:7 to 21--that the love of God is never our human love; it is God Who is Himself expressing Himself in His Love by us. . . .  

"I often find people confused because they don't feel emotionally loving to someone, and they think they ought to love.  But that is the false 'I try' life of Romans 7.  But when we see that we as humans never love by ourselves, but love by recognizing that we are containing Him Who is the love, and that He loves by us, then we have the key."
