The following insight is from Agnes Sanford's autobiography Sealed Orders:
"He [God] never promised that no trouble would come to us on this uncertain earth with its pall of evil and violent thinking. But we know that 'All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose' (Rom. 8:28).
"In other words, if we are faithful and endure to the end, He can take the very things that have caused us the most sorrow and can change the pattern and work them into good--perhaps into a more beautiful pattern than the original ones we were following.
"A master craftsman in India makes the design for the Oriental rugs. They are hung high on a framework, and women and children sit behind them, pull the strands of many-colored wool in and out, and tie the knots. If someone makes a mistake, putting in, for instance, blue instead of red, the craftsman never makes him rip out the thread. Instead, he changes the pattern, weaving the thread often into a more intricate pattern and more beautiful design than the one he had first planned."
