Cannot Stand the Light

The following is from J. Rufus Moseley as recorded in the book Ineffable Union With Christ:  Living in the Kingdom (Selected Writings of J. Rufus Moseley, 1927-1937) compiled and edited by Gregory S. Camp:

"Since Christ is light that works by love, the tempter cannot stand the light.  Only the love of Christ can stand the light of Christ.  So if you tell the tempter--and mean it--that you will bring to light what he tempts you to think and do in the dark, he leaves you.  He prefers to leave you to being told on.

"You will even stop talking about people unkindly when you resolve and put into practice the Christ way of confessing what you have said to the one you said it about.  You will quit anything evil rather than do it in the light.

"We are not condemned for what we have done.  We are condemned for continuing in the dark, for not bringing ourselves and our sins to the Light.

"In Him there is no darkness at all.  When we yield to Him and become wholly loving there will be no darkness in us, no fear in us, no disease in us, and no death in us.  Perfect love sets free from insincerity, shame, pretense, falsity, sin, fear, disease and death."
