Doubt--the Launching Pad for Faith

The following is from a collection of Norman Grubb's personal correspondence, Knight of Faith, Volume 1:

"I think it is healthy and of the Spirit when a thing does cause us to seek and find--much better than when a thing has no effect on us.

"I always tell my hearers that the way to clarification is through confusion, just as the way to faith is through doubt.

". . . All those years that seemed like ['wasted years'], and about which the devil likes to condemn us, become redemptive material in His [God's] hands--to help others in their need.

"Paul [the apostle] had some pretty aggressive 'wasted years,' yet he distinctly said that it was God who 'separated him from his Mother's womb and called him by His grace.'

"So God had His hand on Paul all those years between his birth and conversion, and the depths he went through in opposition to God prepared him for his heights in Christ."
